Jacqueline Simonds

Jacqueline Church Simonds is an author and publishing consultant. She started her own self-publishing journey in 1999 when she produced Captain Mary, Buccaneer, a historical adventure novel loosely based on the real pirate women Ann Bonney and Mary Reade. Jacqueline has been very active in the Self-Publishing community. She has been one of the "List Moms" (moderator) for the SPAN (now AAPSS) Self-Publisher Discussion Group hosted on Yahoo for over eleven years - and that group can now be found at https://www.facebook.com/groups/Publishing.Questions/. She wrote and has maintained The Self-Publisher’s FAQ website for the last ten years. The site was recently updated and moved to www.beaglebay.com. Removing material to make the website’s information more stream-lined made Jacqueline realize that she had much more to say about self-publishing and led to the creation of THE SELF-PUBLISHER'S FAQ. She has written four linked novellas that make up THE BOOK OF ANYA, which is a prequel for her forthcoming novel THE MIDSUMMER WIFE (coming in 2018 Vagabondage Press). She is currently working on the next book in the series. When not writing, Jacqueline is a publishing consultant, aka a Book Shepherd. Jacqueline has been a presenter at many IBPA Publishing Universities on several topics, from marketing fiction to using your intellectual property in many different content venues. She has been on several radio shows, podcasts websites, blogs and webinars about publishing, and has been in articles in such publications as The Wall Street Journal, Self, Reno Gazette Journal, Marketwatch, Reno News and Review and Business Week. She lives in Reno with her barky beagle Lewis and husband Robin.
